Giant has sent out a letter to its customers stating that they would no longer credit five cents for each reusable customer-supplied bag used in shopping. They claim that they are applying these monies so that they can aid the environment.

What a phony excuse.

They will end up with hundreds of thousands dollars more in their pockets, and we consumers will still have to wait in long lines, find that the 15 item lines still refuse to redirect customers with more items, and see that customer service at Giant is an oxymoron. And they'll still charge you five cents if you forget to bring your own bag!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Continue to offer the five cent refund for supplying one's own reusable b ag.
